Chholing Taha is a certified Cree First Nations artisan. Solitude and wilderness has been a loyal companion throughout her lifetime. It is her heart’s wish to instil a sense of mystery within anyone who views these works and discover that place within each spirit that beats together as one heart.
Some of the art works are stories. These narratives find themselves with one hand holding the past bringing new insights towards the hand holding the future. Shawls and wearing blankets are an important garment even for modern times. |
I’m a creative thinker; resourceful and ambitious; practical and realistic. I am particularly interested in textiles and surface design, from objects and installation to projection, photography and abstract image making. My work is predominantly conceptual and encompasses controversial or shocking design ideas. I also have a background of fine art, candid photography and experience of website design, proficient in Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I have lots of experience working part time jobs alongside my studies. I think this shows that I am an incredibly hard worker, determined and motivated.
